AfroxBUSINESS DAY FOCUS 4.0
Afrox has been in business for 92 years and enjoys its position today as market leader due to the ability to innovate, and invest in and embrace new technologies, and integration with 4IR is firmly on the agenda. 2019 saw Afrox complete the rollout of its cylinder tracking system, bringing an unprecedented level of clarity around cylinder stocks, orders, delivery, filling and safety checks, and providing customers the same level of clarity and ease of doing business. For ease of doing business, customers with access to the internet can place orders online via the Afrox eShop, and view their order history, invoices and full accounts at their fingertips, even on a smart phone any time, day or night. Interconnectivity now allows Afrox, a B-BBEE Level 2 rated business, to remotely monitor medical and other bulk gases at hospitals across South Africa. The company was recently awarded the entire South African state healthcare contract and now supplies more than 400 hospitals and clinics in nine provinces.
Our Parent company, The Linde Group, is a global gases, engineering, and technology company.
Afrox operates in South Africa and in nine other African countries and manages operations in five more countries on behalf of The Linde Group.
We provide engineering services and a focused range of performance-enhancing Atmospheric Gases, welding and safety products and LPG to valued customers, through excellence in operations, customer service, product delivery, and investment in infrastructure, employees and technology for the benefit of all stakeholders.
We will be the leading gases and welding product company, admired for our employees by any measure.
At African Oxygen Limited we are accountable for our actions and strive to be transparent in all decisions and activities that may impact the environment and society in general.
Everything we do is based on integrity, honesty and equality and we practice a great respect for all stakeholder interests, the rule of law, human rights, and international standards of behavior.
We recognise that ‘stakeholders’ is a broad term but one that generally consists of shareholders, colleagues, customers and other individuals or groups that may have rights, claims or other interests in our business.
We base our behaviors on accepted international standards of doing business, on our Code of Conduct and our Code of Ethics, which are in accordance with accepted principles of good conduct in all situations, even when these prove challenging.
Afrox is listed on the JSE Limited and the Namibian Stock Exchange. With over 3,000 staff, we are sub-Saharan Africa’s market leader in gases and welding products.
The 4th Industrial Revolution will bring that integration and open the world to new probabilities. While Africa is certainly some years away from fully embracing 4IR, Afrox is on the road to realisation.
