Framed by the picturesque Simonsberg and Drakenstein Mountains, Boschendal is an idyllic destination to unwind, with a glass of premium wine in hand.
As South Africa’s second oldest wine farm, history presides, preserved in the lovingly restored buildings and 1812 Manor House. With a 300-year-long history of wine making, Boschendal balances tradition and innovation to produce a suite of award-winning vintages and exquisite farm-to-table food with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal produce of local and ethically sourced provenance.
Over the years, Boschendal’s focus has intensified on making a long-term positive impact on the environment, surrounding community and on the local economy. Working with nature to produce wholesome food, the estate is a stand-out food and wine destination with a host of activities for the whole family to enjoy. A stay in a charmingly restored cottage is the best way to make the most of everything on offer.
There are many ways to enjoy Boschendal, from picnicking in a picture-perfect setting and dining at The Werf Restaurant to sipping Heritage wines in the historic Manor House and swimming in a pristine mountain stream – it all adds up to a stylish low-key farm experience.
