CHEP primarily serves the fast-moving consumer goods (e.g., dry food, grocery, health and personal care), fresh produce, beverage, retail and general manufacturing industries. CHEP owns approximately 345 million pallets, crates and containers through a global network of more than 750 service centres, supporting more than 500,000 customer touchpoints for global brands such as Procter & Gamble, Unilver, Walmart, Ford, and Nestlé. CHEP is part of the Brambles Group and operates in approximately 60 countries with its largest operations in North America and Western Europe.

Through our inherently sustainable operating model, superior network advantage and industry expertise, we lead the market in smarter and more sustainable supply chains. Our share and reuse model follows the principles of the Circular Economy, creating more efficient supply chains by reducing operating costs and demand on natural resources. CHEP offers customers a more efficient and sustainable alternative to the use of disposable products or managing their own platforms. This allows our customers to pay only for the platforms they use, while they focus on their core business. Circularity is embedded in our DNA. As opposed to many pallet exchange companies, CHEP rents its platforms to customers and then collect almost every unit back after use to inspect, repair and send back out into the supply chain again.

Our global sustainability targets aim to restore nature, to tackle climate change and create shared social value. The company has committed to replenishing the resources it uses and creating more positive impacts beyond its communities, for the benefit of future generations. The CHEP sustainability strategy consists of Planet Positive, Business Positive and Communities Positive targets.

Among global Planet Positive targets are undertakings not only to ensure 100% sustainable sourcing of CHEP timber indefinitely, which the company achieved as part of its 2020 goals, but to go beyond that and allow two trees to grow for every one used for pallets – adding millions of new trees by 2030.

CHEP has also committed to using renewable electricity across its global operations. CHEP has already achieved carbon neutrality in its business operations. Another of the company’s international goals is to ensure no product materials are sent to landfills and to introduce closed-loop products using 30% recycled or upcycled plastic waste.

Worldwide Business Positive targets include doubling customer collaborations from 250 to 500, having at least 40% women in management roles and reducing business injury frequency rates by 25%.

The CHEP Communities Positive targets across the global operation include collaborating with food banks to serve rescued food to 10 million people; and impacting one million people to become circular economy change makers.

CHEP is consistently rated as one of the most sustainable businesses in the world. Among the recognition CHEP and Brambles have received, is being rated the most sustainable international company by Barron’s magazine in 2020; earning an A- rating in circular economy assessment by the Ellen MacArthur foundation, and appearing in the 96th percentile of the industry category in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. The company was also included for the first time in the Corporate Knight’s prestigious Global 100 list of the world’s most sustainable corporations.

CHEP operates the biggest equipment pool of its kind, with 1.5 million pallets and containers from full-size wooden pallets to plastic quarter-pallet display platforms in circulation across the Sub – Saharan (SSA) region, all standardised to fit into our customers’ supply chains. And we have the biggest support network too, with 85 service centres in 7 countries across the SSA region. CHEP’s range of pooling services means that companies can outsource their pallet management entirely.

CHEP has been at the heart of the automotive and industrial supply chains since 1986, providing our dedicated industry solutions to some of the top Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Tier 1 brands in the country. We have a wide range of solutions, inserts, accessories, and pooling equipment, developed to provide the very best protection for your product. Our range of equipment includes foldable large containers (FLCs) in the form of autoboxes, autocages and plastic FLCs, and small handheld containers, such as, autocrates (KLTs) and securetainers. We can deliver supply-chain solutions that help reduce operations and logistics costs, whilst improving sustainability.
