“Shaping Skills. Pioneering Industries. Empowering Futures”

The Media, Information and Communication Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority (MICT SETA) is a public entity established in terms of the Skills Development Act, 1998 (Act No. 97 of 1998). Its main role is to enrich industry skills set to meet the demands of rapidly changing economies, and new technologies and to promote inclusive economic growth in South Africa within the Advertising, Film and Electronic Media, Electronics, Information Technology, and Telecommunications sub-sectors.

We pride ourselves in having meaningful partnerships with industry, universities, and TVET colleges (both public and private) and facilitates an enabling environment to produce 21st-century skills.

The partnerships endorse our commitment to skills development in the sector amidst the rapid change in technology and skills needs.

Our commitment to supporting Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) and the development of rural communities contributes towards addressing the requisite skills immeasurably.

Empowering future generations

We create opportunities that accelerate young people’s careers through learnerships, bursaries, internships, skills programmes and Work Integrated Learning (WIL), that are aimed at developing their talents while creating employment and entrepreneurship opportunities within the key industries that the MICT SETA services.

Embrace the future of work / Nurture talent

Technology is empowering people with new tools that enable them to do their jobs better. Robots and AI will work side by side with humans, reshaping the world and everyone in it. Business and Talent are on the brink of the greatest transformation in history. It’s time to get ready. Therefore the SETA facilitates and creates an enabling environment through funding opportunities to realise these imperatives.

Accelerate Digital Advancement

Digital is the new imperative and if you haven’t already made the shift, there is no time to lose. Adapt today to ensure that your business and workforce survives and thrives tomorrow – Hence the MICT SETA continuously establishes meaningful collaborations with key stakeholders to accelerate digital advancement.
