About Rentokil Initial
Rentokil Initial is proud to be a truly South African company, with 2017 marking the Company’s 50th anniversary as a Proprietary Limited Company (pty) Ltd operating within the South African marketplace. Rentokil Initial offers the strengths and experience of a multinational organisation, whilst retaining the agility and characteristics of a local company. The business is focused on delivering great service to its wide range of customers, across its three business divisions: Rentokil Pest Control, Initial Hygiene Services and Ambius Interior Landscaping.
Rentokil pest control offers customers market-leading products based on extensive research and development to ensure pest- free premises. Initial is a leading specialist in hygiene services for workplaces and washroom areas in shops, of ces, factories, hotels and leisure facilities. Ambius specialises in the design, supply, installation and maintenance of acclimatised indoor and outdoor plant displays.
Rentokil Initial takes its responsibility to all its stakeholders and the country in which it operates seriously; its rich history of transformation – both internally and externally – goes back many years.
Rentokil Initial South Africa is committed to open and transparent management and measurement of its Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment and transformation process.
At Rentokil Initial South Africa (RISA) we not only believe that empowerment is critical to the success of our business, but that it is also a prerequisite for sustainable growth. To this end Rentokil Initial South Africa launched an Employee Share Ownership Plan in 2014, in which all eligible employees collectively own 25% of RISA through an Employee Bene t Trust, and are paid an annual dividend in the rst quarter of each year.
Rentokil Initial is currently rated a Level 4 BEE Company by Empowerdex, and is constantly striving to improve this rating through a number of ongoing initiatives including proactive recruitment, employment, and development of people from historically disadvantaged backgrounds; enterprise and supplier development where suitable small enterprises from the emerging sectors of our industry are empowered and upskilled to enable them to grow their businesses; preferential procurement including identifying the current BEE status of all vendors to Rentokil Initial and giving preference to Black Empowered suppliers when procurement decisions are made; and socio-economic investment by way of active involvement in a number of community based initiatives. We are avid supporters of Global Handwashing Day – held annually in October – and have just launched our Hygiene Angels: Keeping
girls in school campaign, which is aimed at providing free sanitary pads to school- aged girls in need, along with free feminine hygiene services to the schools they attend.
