Sandton Eye Clinic

About Sandton Eye Clinic

Sandton Eye Clinic provides quality expert eye care to patients with the primary aim to treat and where possible prevent permanent loss of sight.

The clinic provides professional diagnosis and cares for most eye complaints from common disorders such as dry eyes to serious conditions requiring specialist surgery.

The clinic has been in operation since 2008 and is headed up by Dr. Robert Daniel, a specialist ophthalmologist with more than 15 years’ experience.

Dr. Daniel worked under the renowned ophthalmologist and medical innovator Dr. Percy Amoils gaining valuable insight and experience into ophthalmic surgery and best practice.  He also has training in human physiology and neuroscience, which enables him to diagnose and treat both physical and neurological conditions affecting the eye.

A passion for eye health coupled with a desire to help his patients preserve and maintain their vision has led Dr. Daniel and his team sourcing innovative technological solutions for various eye conditions.

He is assisted by two trained optometrists who are responsible for diagnostic tests and assessments. The practice staff are recognised for their compassion and have been trained to provide excellent patient care.  They understand how stressful it is when one is diagnosed with an eye condition and will gladly assist by answering any questions about treatment. They will also ensure all necessary documentation and requirements are provided for medical aid claims.

Sandton Eye Clinic also provides tailor-made solutions for individuals and corporates for regular eye screening which helps with early detection of eye diseases and conditions.  Annual screening for conditions such as glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy is extremely valuable as often these diseases are only picked up once they present with symptoms which is often too late for effective treatment.
