About Veronica Anderson Jewellery
A little gem of a gallery – Established in 2005, Veronica Anderson Jewellery is celebrated as South Africa’s leading fine jewellery gallery. Each piece is handmade and a once off, and reflects the creativity and outstanding design talent of South African foremost goldsmiths and jewellery designers.
South Africa has a wealth of exceptionally talented craftsmen. Veronica Anderson Jewellery was launched in 2005, and offers a platform for individually made, one-off pieces made exclusively by local artist-jewellers.
Our jewellery features a wide variety of gemstones in precious metals. Rough cut, tumbled, facetted stones – set in silver, gold or platinum. And, of course, the two “staples” in any great jewellery wardrobe….diamonds and pearls. Natural diamonds in easily wearable designs a passion of ours. And pearls remain a never-ending VAJ love story…..new pieces showcasing this extraordinary and magnificent gem are always to be found on our shelves.
Our customers enjoy owning one-of-a-kind pieces and it’s a thrill to hear how often our designs are commented on and admired. We work at ensuring that every piece is well designed and professionally executed and we stand by our product – if something does go wrong, we sort it out!
The concept of so many small businesses (i.e. the self-employed jeweller) being supported by our slightly larger small business is very rewarding and stimulating – and our customers really enjoy this too.
We commission completely new themed collections two or three times a year. These collections are inspired by the general mood of those around us – we watch for trends and keep an eye new choices and combinations of colour. It’s amazing how quickly one spots things no fashion guru has yet predicted simply by observing closely.
“Vintage Inspiration”, our most recent collection, followed a worldwide nostalgic trend. Clothing, cars, furniture, were all reflecting this mood, revisiting designs and the timelessness of the past. We commissioned a collection of pieces referencing the styles and techniques of antique jewellery but with a modern twist.
We’ve sold more than 7 000 pieces – over 500 a year. This may not sound like a lot, but it’s impressive when you consider that each and every piece was handmade by a local jeweller working on the bench. The three of us, Veronica, Elize and Louise, remember just about every piece, who made it and often who bought it! It’s the personal touch that ensures we remain South Africa’s leading contemporary jewellery gallery.
